Term 1, 2025 Newsletter
Thank you for a fantastic Term 1. Despite a small disturbance to our usual classes with the impact of Cyclone Alfred during the term, it has been a great term for our recreational and competition gymnasts.
We were excited to receive new lighting outside our club installed to improve visibility and our new fans and portable air conditioners placed around the premises. We will continue to work with City of Gold Coast to advocate for more improvement in our facilities. We are pleased to confirm our cladding grant with City of Gold Coast has been approved and works will begin later this year on the outside of the building which will include new cladding and painting. These works are a maintenance requirement as part of our lease.
Our Easter Raffle 2025 was drawn on 5 April 2025, see here for a full list of winners. A big thank you to committee member Fay for organising this year’s raffle for us. We raised more than $1200 for our club, which will continue to be spent on enhancing our facilities. Also thank you to all our wonderful members who donated items for the raffle. We could not have done it without you.
Save the date! For our Term 2 fundraiser – a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on 18 May 2025. You will receive information soon on how you can volunteer.
Thank you to everyone who completed the parent feedback survey, we are currently reviewing the responses and greatly value your input.
Senior competition season
We’ve had a great start to the Senior Competition Season with our first competition at AGDA on 24 March 2025.

Coaches corner – a message from Head Coach Maddy
Our new club uniform has landed at Southport Gymnastics Club, with a crisp new adidas tracksuit and a dazzling Sylvia P competition leotard for the seniors - keep an eye out in the future for when we will phase this down all our levels.
Our senior gymnasts have kickstarted their 2025 competition season, with some notable results that will carry them through to success at regionals and states in the coming month.
We are heading into school holidays this week, where I will be popping in to do quality and shaping checks with our junior gymnasts.
During the holidays we will also be putting into place some new warm up programs for our juniors, to ensure our WAG Program has a streamlined approach all the way from level 1 and beyond.
Our club and coaches will continue to improve our quality and techniques to put Southport Gymnastics Club on the map!
New club training leotard
We are excited to launch a new club training leotard. This is now open for everyone to pre-order.
Recreational & Kindergym Corner
We have been busy in the gym with our Kindergym, Bronze, Silver and Gold classes.
Our gymnasts have been working hard on their skills.
Our classes are working on competition skills ready for gymnasts to progress into pre competition classes.

Full day - 9:00-3:00pm $60 per day per gymnast
Half Day - 9:00-12:00pm $40 per day per gymnast
