    Maddy - Head Coach

Maddy joins us from most recently Canberra City Gymnastics Club and brings with her an immense wealth of knowledge spanning 14 years. She has successfully taken, two level 10 athletes to the Australian National Championships both placing individually and coached the ACT’s WAG Gymnast of the Year.

Professionally she holds accreditations as a WAG Advanced Silver Coach and a WAG Advanced Judge.

  • Val - Senior Coach

Coach Val is accredited as a WAG Advance Silver Coach, one of the highest qualifications in the industry. An Advanced silver accreditation provides a coach with the skills and knowledge to coach athletes up to state and national level with the potential to support gymnasts on the pathway to international competition as well. Advanced Silver is gained by completing a FIG Level 2 Academy Program, run by the International Federation of Gymnastics.

Val also holds an intermediate judging qualification.

  • Max - Senior Coach

Coach Max is a valuable member of our Coaching Leadership Team. He holds accreditation as an advanced MAG coach, advanced silver WAG coach (including FIG level 2 WAG course) and has completed an advanced Free G course.

Born in Leninsk-Kuznetskii, in Russia, Max was a competitive gymnast himself competing at regional and state levels in Russia and Spain, before he tragically broke his left knee and was forced to retire. He moved to Australia in 1996 and began his coaching journey, following in the footsteps of his parents, who were both ex-gymnasts and coaches.

Having grown up surrounded by gymnastics, Max has a wealth of knowledge that he enjoys sharing with his students. His motivation comes from the satisfaction of hearing a gymnast say thank you for helping them.

  • Elyse - Senior Coach

Elyse moved to Australia from the UK where she held a UK equivalent of a WAG Advanced Coach. She’s been coaching for 10 years after competing herself to a level 8 gymnast. Elyse says she wanted to become a coach because she never was able to reach her full potential as a gymnasts due to a health issue.

“I now have the opportunity to ensure other gymnasts can reach their full potential,” she says. “Gymnastics offers so much both physically and mentally that a student can take away from the gym, which then has a ripple effect into other aspects of their lives. I think that is really special.”
